Mosaic Equity was established in 2018 to consolidate the business interests of Mosaic Community Developments. The reason for Mosaic Equity’s existence is to create sustainable revenue for Mosaic’s orphan care initiatives. In addition to funding orphan care initiatives. It is our objective to have a long-term impact on the larger society we operate within through achieving economic and social success.
We do this by partnering with management teams and actively supporting the business and its management with the necessary capital, strategic advice, and access to business networks. We believe in partnerships built on trust and therefore view the relationship with the management team and other stakeholders as critical to the success of the underlying business.
Our investment approach is primarily about people in partnership. We manage investments to deliver long-term capital growth and sustainable, growing distributions to our shareholders.
Our investment portfolio consists of significant interests in businesses operating across multiple industries both locally and internationally. Each of these businesses are led by proven entrepreneurs with robust business models and significant scale potential.
We are hands-on, relationship-based investors who add value to investee companies and their management teams. Our flexible mandate and entrepreneurial mindset allow us to reach investment, growth and exit strategies tailored to maximize the potential of each company.
Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) laws are aimed at righting the socio-economic imbalances in South Africa by promoting economic transformation. This is achieved through incentivising South African businesses to partner with black shareholders, to procure products and services from black owned businesses and to fund socio-economic and skills development among black individuals in South Africa.
Mosaic Equity is an ideal solution for organisations that require a B-BBEE partner. Mosaic Equity is 100% owned by our non-profit organisation which benefits orphaned and vulnerable children around South Africa. That means Mosaic Equity can contribute up to 100% on black ownership (B- BBEE) points, and through our associates, can also provide points for Skills Development (SD) and Enterprise Development (ED).
Our shareholder, Mosaic Community Developments (NPC) can contribute up to 100% on Socio- Economic Development (SED) points.
